WHEREAS, in 2007 the City entered into contract with Ameriscape for landscape management of gateways; and
WHEREAS, language in the legislation (ORD-0064-2007) was not specific about option years; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service has evaluated the scope of work addressed in the original contract and expanded it to add approximately 650,000 sq. ft. of mowing and maintenance, and there is sufficient funding in the 2008 Appropriations for the additional work; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service has recommended that we enter into Addendum to Contract for the years 2008 and 2009, with an option for 2010; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward due to the imminent growing season, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Addendum to Contract with AMERISCAPE, INC., P.O. Box 663, New Albany, Ohio 43054, for landscape maintenance for Gahanna gateways for the years 2008 and 2009, with an option for 2010; Contract attached as EXHIBIT A and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of FIFTY SEVEN THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED FIFTY EIGHT DOLLARS ($57,458) was set aside in the 2008 Appropriations to Account No. 101.431.5249, Lands & Buildings, Contract Services, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
