WHEREAS, the City Attorney has been paying for Ray J. King to provide legal services to Planning Commission and it is the recommendation at this time to formalize this agreement with Ray J. King; and

 

WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Attorney and the Director of Human Resources to enter into a Personal Services Contract with Ray J. King for the year 2009; and

 

WHEREAS, Planning Commission is a necessary function of our City Government, and it is deemed appropriate to proceed at the earliest possible date to effect continuity in said services for Planning Commission, and all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Personal Services Contract with Ray J. King for legal services for Planning Commission and other services that may be needed by the City Attorney, said contract attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of SEVEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($7,500) shall be set aside in the Year 2009 Appropriations to Account 101.181.5115, City Attorney, Contract Labor, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and upon date of signature approval by the Mayor.
