TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH AMERICAN STRUCTUREPOINT, INC. FOR HAMILTON ROAD BRIDGE OVER IR 270; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE A PORTION OF THE FUNDS THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, American Structurepoint, Inc. is the engineering consultant working for ODOT to develop the I-270 bridge clearance project; and
WHEREAS, ODOT has determined the Hamilton Road bridge needs to be raised which has caused ODOT to accelerate the schedule for replacing the bridge deck; and
WHEREAS, ODOT is willing to add the Gahanna specified railing and lighting if we provide the design and the additional cost; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this project to keep to ODOT's schedule and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into Contract with AMERICAN STRUCTUREPOINT, INC., 2550 Corporate Exchange Drive, Suite 300, Columbus, OH 43231, for engineering services to add aesthetic treatment and decorative lighting to the FRA-317-1720 Bridge over IR 270, contract attached hereto as EXHIBIT A and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of TEN THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED NINETEEN AND 92/100 DOLLARS ($10,119.92) was appropriated to Account No. 224.343.5596, TIZ, Capital Projects/Improvements in the 2013 appropriations.
Section 3. That SIX THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED THIRTY EIGHT and 08/100 DOLLARS is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the TIZ fund to Account No. 224.343.5596, TIZ, Capital Projects/Improvements.
Section 4. That ORD-0001-2013, passed January 2, 2013, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
