TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH EVANS, MECHWART, HAMBLETON & TILTON, INC., FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE HAVENS CORNERS ROAD/HELMBRIGHT INTERSECTION TO MOVE THE SCHOOL ZONE TO THE WEST; IMPROVEMENT NO. 794; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, with the addition of the turn lane at Havens Corners Road at Helmbright, in lieu of right of way the property owner has asked that the school flasher moved, and the City has agreed; and
WHEREAS, letter proposal has been received and the City Engineer has recommended we accept it; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with the moving of this signal before the beginning of the 2002-2003 school year, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with EVANS, MECHWART, HAMBLETON & TILTON, INC., 170 Mill Street, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, for engineering services to extend the Havens Corners Road school zone to the west; Havens Corners Road at Helmbright; Improvement No. 794.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of FIFTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS ($1,500) was set aside in the 2002 Appropriations to Account No. 325.122.5548, Capital Improvement, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
