TITLE
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION - General Fund and Streets Fund for Traffic Signal Cabinet Repairs
BODY
WHEREAS, a vehicle struck the traffic signal control cabinet at the intersection of Granville Street and Flint Ridge Drive; and
WHEREAS, the vehicle knocked the traffic signal cabinet off its pedestal and onto the ground a few feet from the base, damaging the cabinet and internal components, including fiber optics; and
WHEREAS, emergency repairs that included placement of a temporary traffic signal cabinet were performed by Jess Howard Electric; and
WHEREAS, permanent repairs and replacement of the traffic signal cabinet and its internal components, including fiber optic connectivity, are necessary; and
WHEREAS, the costs to repair the traffic signal cabinet exceed the current yearly repair budget for the Department of Public Service; and
WHEREAS, in order to complete the work, the Department of Public Service requests a supplemental appropriation totaling $75,549.47, which includes a ten percent contingency for any unforeseen expenses.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That funding in the amount of five thousand six hundred fifty-two dollars seventeen cents ($5,652.17) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unappropriated, unencumbered balance of the General Fund to the account as follows:
101.11.400.5205 Contract Services: $5,652.17
Section 2. That funding in the amount of sixty-nine thousand eight hundred ninety-seven dollars thirty cents ($69,897.30) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unappropriated, unencumbered balance of the Streets Fund to the account as follows:
220.11.000.5220 Maintenance Services: $69,897.30
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by Council and on date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
