TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH SCHOTTENSTEIN, ZOX & DUNN, FOR LEGAL SERVICES TO DRAFT A MASTER AGREEMENT; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, Schottenstein, Zox & Dunn has submitted a proposal for consulting services to various cities in Central Ohio with regard to a master agreement that everyone will be able to use; and
WHEREAS, this agreement ties into the fiber deployment project we are currently working towards; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to proceed at the earliest possible date with this agreement while other communities are doing so; all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into agreement with Schottenstein, Zox & Dunn, for legal services in preparing a master agreement, said agreement attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding is available through the 2000 Appropriations in Account Number 101.181.5232, City Attorney, Special Counsel, to pay our portion of this contract.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
