TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH JESS HOWARD ELECTRIC COMPANY FOR INSTALLATION OF LIGHTS AND LIGHTING MATERIALS AT ACADEMY PARK; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $22,000 THEREFOR; AND TO WAIVE THE BIDDING PROCEDURES.
Body
WHEREAS, it is now the appropriate time to install the lights at Academy Park Ball Fields; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Parks and Recreation has discussed the lighting of this park with concerned residents, and it has been determined that all concerns have been settled to mutual satisfaction; and

WHEREAS, Jess Howard Electric Company was instrumental in assisting the City in procuring the bulk of the materials needed for this project from the football fields and from Reynoldsburg; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Parks and Recreation has received a proposal from Jess Howard Electric Company to rework and clean these materials and install according to code, and has recommended to Council that we proceed, waiving the bidding procedures because of all the preliminary assistance given to the City by Jess Howard Electric Company;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with Jess Howard Electric Company, 6630 Taylor Road, Blacklick, Ohio 43004, for: 1) Electrical Service for Academy Park Ball Field Lights, and 2) Lighting for Ball Fields at Academy Park, said work to be in accordance with proposal, dated January 11, 1999, and in accordance with City specifications. Said proposal is attached to this ordinance at EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.

Section 2. That the amount of TWENTY-TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS ($22,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance in the General Fund to Account No. 101.431.5515, Parks and Recreation, Capital Projects.
