TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH EVANS, MECHWART, HAMBLETON & TILTON, INC., FOR DESIGN TO EXTEND SOUTHEAST SANITARY SEWER TO TAYLOR ROAD THROUGH BRUBAKER PROPERTY; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $6,500 THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, through right of way negotiations with owners of the Brubaker parcel on Taylor Road with regard to widening of that road, it has become necessary and desirable to study this service area and determine the proper size and depth for an extension of the Southeast Sanitary Subtrunk Sewer, Sewer Improvement No. 277; and
WHEREAS, due to the pending Taylor Road construction schedule, it is appropriate to authorize this work as rapidly as possible for the orderly development on Taylor Road, and for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Agreement with EVANS, MECHWART, HAMBLETON & TILTON, INC., 170 Mill Street, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, for design work on the extension of the Southeast Sanitary Subtrunk Sewer, Sewer Improvement No. 277, in accordance with scope of services letter dated December 11, 1997, and in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. That the amount of SIX THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($6,500) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance in the Sewer Fund to Account No. 661.360.5533, Capital Projects, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That Ordinance No. 980001, passed January 2, 1998, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and approval by the Mayor.
