WHEREAS, a 2008 Litter Cleanup Grant has been awarded to the City of Gahanna from ODNR for the purpose of implementing a litter cleanup project; and

WHEREAS, it is the desire of Council and the Finance Department to supplementally appropriate these funds to the Recreation Program Services account for expenses incurred while establishing the litter cleanup program; and

WHEREAS, the 2008 Litter Cleanup Grant Agreement needs to be signed by the Mayor so that these funds may be received; and

WHEREAS, the agreement needs to be signed by April 15 and returned to the state and therefore constitutes a need for immediate acceptance, and all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

Section 1. That this Council and Administration, on behalf of the citizens of Gahanna do hereby accept ODNR grant monies for the purpose of implementing a Litter Cleanup project and authorize the Mayor to sign the 2008 Litter Cleanup Grant Agreement, said agreement attached hereto as Exhibit A.

Section 2: That funding in the amount of ONE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS ($1,800) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance in the General Fund to Account No. 101.432.5421, Recreation Program Services.

Section 3. That ORD-0001-2008, passed January 2, 2008 is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.

Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect...
