TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO LEASE AGREEMENT WITH THE YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF CENTRAL OHIO; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, the City has demonstrated its support and dedication to the development of a YMCA facility in Gahanna through the purchase of land; and
WHEREAS, further support was shown through the commitment of funds over the next 3 years;
WHEREAS, the YMCA wishes to pursue their bonding for construction of 3 facilities and needs the signed lease in place to move forward; and
WHEREAS, it is prudent to move forward so that the project may be kept on schedule, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Lease Agreement with The Young Men's Christian Association of Central Ohio, said Ground Lease attached to this ordinance and made a part hereof as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is deemed emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
