Body
WHEREAS, the current lease on our mail machine will be up in September and the Service department has been investigating replacement machine options; and

WHEREAS, by making some minor processing changes and with the reduction in volume with water/sewer bills processed off-site it is possible to  reduce the lease price per month from $795 to $652 a month; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service has recommended we enter into a 5 year lease with Pitney Bowes for the DM875 Digital Mailing System and the machine is on the State contract #800051; and

WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this new lease as Pitney Bowes will allow us to exit our current lease, thus saving the difference between the two leases, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

Section 1.  The the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Lease Agreement with PITNEY BOWES CREDIT CORP, 2225 American Drive, Neenah, Wisconsin, 54956-1005, for DM875 Weigh-On-The-Way Digital Mailing System, for a 60 month lease at a cost of $652 a month; Lease Agreement attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
