TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO LPA FEDERAL PROJECT AGREEMENT WITH THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, FOR FRA-US62-26.34, PID NUMBER 22374, ALSO KNOWN AS THE MORSE ROAD US 62 INTERSECTION, IMPROVEMENT NO. 753; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the City authorized agreement with the Ohio Department of Transportation by ORD-0035-2002 for the above named project; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of the Ohio Department of Transportation has requested completion of an amended LPA agreement with the City in the planning, design, and construction of improvement to the Morse Road US 62 intersection; and

 

WHEREAS, it is important and necessary that this agreement be executed in a timely manner in order to reach an orderly completion of this project due to the continuing efforts to improve the overall intersection, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare:

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into LPA Process and Project Agreement with the Ohio Department of Transportation for FRA-US62-26.34, PID Number 22374,  also known as the Morse Road US 62 Intersection, Improvement No. 753, said Agreement attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.

 

Section 2.  That this agreement provides that the City shall be the lead agency for said project and shall be reimbursed by the Ohio Department of Transportation for their portion of this project as outlined in the agreement.

 

Section 3.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force after passage by this Council and shall be effective upon the date of signature approval by the Mayor.
