TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF LIFE AND EARTH SCIENCES, OTTERBEIN COLLEGE FOR AN ECOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT OF BIG WALNUT CREEK AND ITS TRIBUTARIES IN THE CITY OF GAHANNA

WHEREAS, a proposal has been received from the Department of Life and Earth Sciences of Otterbein College to complete an Ecological Assessment of Big Walnut Creek and its tributaries; and
WHEREAS this work would be done by students under the direction of Michael A. Hoggarth, Ph.D.; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor has requested that we move forward with this study in order to document the cleanliness of and to protect Big Walnut Creek;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into agreement with the Department of Life and Earth Sciences, Otterbein College, Westerville, Ohio, for the completion of an Ecological Assessment of Big Walnut Creek and its tributaries, said proposal attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That funding for this assessment in the amount of One Thousand Three Hundred Seventy Four Dollars ($1,374) is available in Account Number 101.431.5309, Parks, Maintenance Supplies.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after signature of approval by the Mayor.
