TO AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO AWARD AND THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH CONIE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, FOR INSTALLATION OF FIRE HYDRANTS.

WHEREAS, bids were opened on February 20, 2008 for installation of fire hydrants, and the Director of Public Service has recommended we proceed with the lowest, most responsive, and responsible, bidder;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Director of Public Service is hereby authorized to award, and the Mayor is authorized to enter into contract with CONIE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, 1340 Windsor Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43211, for installation of fire hydrants at a cost of $1,225 per hydrant installed; in accordance with bid and City specifications; bid tabs attached as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of TWENTY SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($27,000) was set aside in the 2008 Appropriations to Account No. 652.351.5510, WSCI, Minor Capital.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
