TO AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO AWARD AND THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH NICKOLAS SAVKO & SONS, INC., FOR THE EAST INDUSTRIAL SANITARY SEWER AND SOUTHEAST SUBTRUNK EXTENSION; IMPROVEMENT NO. 727; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $254,000; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, bids were accepted for the East Industrial Sanitary Sewer and Southeast Subtrunk Extension, Improvement No. 727, on February 23, 2001; and
WHEREAS, the lowest and best bidder has been selected by the Director of Public Service with concurrence of the City Engineer; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this project, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with Nickolas Savko & Sons Inc., 4636 Shuster Road, Columbus, Ohio, 43214, for construction of the East Sanitary Sewer and Southeast Subtrunk Extension, Improvement No. 727, in accordance with bid and city specifications, bid tab attached as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of TWO HUNDRED FIFTY FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS ($254,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unappropriated, unencumbered balance in the SSCI Fund to Account No. 662.361.5821, Capital Projects, Sewer TIF, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That ORD-1-2001, passed January 2, 2001, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 4. That for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
