TO HONOR AND COMMEND THE GAHANNA LINCOLN HIGH SCHOOL 2012/2013 SPEECH AND DEBATE TEAM.

WHEREAS, the Gahanna Lincoln High School Speech and Debate Team continues to take top honors both locally and nationally; and
WHEREAS, seniors Ali McCathern and Evren Gokcen qualified for the national tournament in Lincoln Douglas debate, and Junior Sedona Rosenberg qualified in United States extemporaneous speaking, which means they are among the top 250 students in their event; and
WHEREAS, Emily Jadwin, Evren Gokcen, and Ali McCathern were named to the National Forensic League Academic All-American honorees; and
WHEREAS, receiving the special Mann Award for most wins in a season were Jadwin and Mallory Rowen, McCathern, Gokcen and Nathan Power; and
WHEREAS, other team members locally receiving Degree of Excellence were Skye Booth, Jassy Da Silva, Megan Ellesser, Kate Frank, Loie Greenwood, Nicole Kirk, Sumeet Kotwal, Nick Pagliaro, Allie Paulk, Summit Rosenberg, Mallory Rowan, Tara Smith, Wesley Thompson and Jennie McAndrew; and
WHEREAS, special thanks goes to Lyle Linerode, head coach, Kristen Juth, English teacher, and volunteer Bruce Mann; and
WHEREAS, Gahanna is very proud of the accomplishments of these dedicated Speech & Debate Team Members and know that they will continue to shine;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That this Council hereby honors and commends all of the members of the Gahanna Lincoln High School 2012/2013 Speech and Debate Team for their participation and excellence.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
