WHEREAS, the Creekside Park bank maintenance has presented a challenge because of accessibility to the island and light duty travel paths; and
WHEREAS, the biggest obstacle is having the ability to get materials into position as large equipment cannot access many parts of the project without causing excessive damage to surrounding areas; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Parks & Recreation is recommending that we proceed with the purchase of a Mini Track Loader; and
WHEREAS, this equipment can be purchased off the State Contract list through GSA contract number GS07F5432R; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this purchase all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into purchase agreement with BUCKEYE POWER SALES, P.O. Box 265, Blacklick, Ohio 43004, for a Toro Dingo TX525 Mini Track Loader, with associated attachments and a transport trailer for Creekside Park bank maintenance; more specific breakdown attached as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of TWENTY EIGHT THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED SEVENTY FIVE DOLLARS ($28,875) was set aside in the 2006 Appropriations to Account No. 101.431.5511, Capital Projects - Parks, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
