TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH JEFFERSON LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT RECREATION COUNCIL; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $33,000.

WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna has been interested in purchasing property along the Big Walnut Creek area; and
WHEREAS, recommendation has been made by the Administation and the Parks and Recreation Board to purchase 3.3+/- acres to include the access road from the Pool Soccer Field Area; and
WHEREAS, this purchase, coupled with an access agreement with St. Matthew to extend the access road through the Pool Soccer Field Area, will make the southwest floodplain area available for future park and bikeway development along Big Walnut Creek;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to purchase property from the Jefferson Local School District Recreation Council for 3.3+/- acres as shown on the attached survey map attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That the amount of THIRTY THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($33,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unappropriated, unencumbered balance of the General Fund to Account No. 101.431.5511, Parks, Capital Projects.
Section 3. That ORD-0001-2001, passed January 2, 2001, is hereby amended to reflect this supplmental appropriation.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after signature of approval by the Mayor.
