TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH ADVANCED CIVIL DESIGN, INC., FOR ENGINEERING DESIGN SERVICES FOR LINCOLN CIRCLE ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the City has been working to improve access issues at the post office on Lincoln Circle for some time; and
WHEREAS, a solution agreeable to the property owner is now being proposed and the City would like to proceed with the engineering design modifications; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has recommended that we proceed with Advanced Civil Design for the services; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with the design work as soon as possible so that problems can be alleviated, and all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with ADVANCED CIVIL DESIGN, 422 Beecher Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, for engineering services for the Lincoln Circle roadway improvements; Proposal attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of ELEVEN THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($11,100) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the General Fund to Account No. 101.145.5513, Engineering/Capital - Streets, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That ORD-0001-2008, passed January 2, 2008, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on 30 DAYS AFTER date of signature approval by the Mayor.
