TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO ENGAGEMENT LETTER WITH ROBERT W. BAIRD & CO. FOR INVESTMENT BANKING AND FINANCIAL ADVISORY SERVICES, AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, the City has determined that investment banking and financial advisory services are needed in connection with an economic development project; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and the Director of Development have recommended that we proceed with Robert W. Baird & Co. to perform these services; and
WHEREAS, in order to complete the work needed to move forward with this project in a timely fashion, it is deemed appropriate to enter into this contract as quickly as possible, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into engagement letter with ROBERT W. BAIRD & CO., 10 West Broad Street, 25th Floor, Columbus, OH for investment banking and financial advisory services, said engagement letter attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding up to NINE THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($9,900) has been set aside in the 2010 Appropriations to Account No. 343.5253, Development, Planning, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
