Title

TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO WAIVE FEES FOR THE GAHANNA SOCCER ASSOCIATION FOR WATER & SEWER PERMITS ASSOCIATED WITH THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE HEADLEY PARK CONCESSION STAND; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the Gahanna Soccer Association will begin construction on the new Concession/Office/Restroom building at Headley Park in the near future; and

 

WHEREAS, the Gahanna Soccer Association will be donating approximately $250,000 by funding the construction and will donate the building to the Gahanna Parks & Recreation Department; and

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative to proceed with the waiving of the fees so that construction can begin as soon as possible  all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to waive fees totalling $20,600 for the following amounts for permits needed by the Gahanna Soccer Association for the construction of the Headley Park Concession/Office/Restroom building:

 

Water Capacity Fee                                 $2,500

Water Connection Fee                               9,000

Water Inspection Fee                                     80

Sewer Connection Fee                               9,000

Sewer Inspection Fee                                     80

                                                              ________

                                                                $20,600

 

Section 2.  That waiver of second reading has been requested.

 

Section 3.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
