TO ACCEPT A DONATION BY GAHANNA KIWANIS ON BEHALF OF THE GAHANNA SENIOR CENTER; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE SAID DONATION TO SENIOR CENTER CAPITAL PROJECT ACCOUNT FOR A COMPUTER PURCHASE; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, review of computer needs for the Gahanna Senior Center have been made by the Director of Network Operations, and recommendation has been made to Council; and
WHEREAS, a generous donation has been received from the Gahanna Kiwanis for the specific purpose of purchasing a computer for the Gahanna Senior Center; and
WHEREAS, due to the busy scheduling of events and organization of the center in September of each year, it is prudent to move forward with this purchase as quickly as possible, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That this Council and Administration, on behalf of the citizens of Gahanna do hereby accept the very generous donation of Two Thousand Ninety-two & 95/100 Dollars ($2,092.95) from the Gahanna Kiwanis. for the sole purpose of purchasing a computer for the Gahanna Senior Center.
Section 2. That the amount of TWO THOUSAND NINETY-TWO & 95/100 DOLLARS ($2,092.95) is here by supplementally appropriated from The General Fund to Account No. 101.434.5515, Capital Projects, Senior Services, for the purpose of purchasing a computer, as recommended by the Director of Network Operations, for the Gahanna Senior Center.
Section 3. That Ordinance No. 980001, passed January 2, 1998, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and approval by the Mayor.
