TO AMEND SECTION 135.011, DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE, OF CHAPTER 135, DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SERVICE, OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, a review of this code section was undertaken by the City Attorney as a result of the reestablishment of the position of Deputy Director of Public Service; and
WHEREAS, Council has reviewed these changes and is ready to move forward with this change; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to move forward immediately with the hiring of this position in order to implement the work necessary in a timely fashion, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That Section 135.011, Deputy Director of Public Service, of Chapter 135, Department of Public Service, is hereby amended as set forth in EXHIBIT A attached hereto and made a part herein.
Section 2. That existing Section 135.011, Employment of Deputy Director of Public Service, of Chapter 135, Department of Public Service, is hereby repealed.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation, and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
