TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH DONALD O. BRECKENRIDGE TO SERVE AS MAGISTRATE FOR THE CITY OF GAHANNA MAYOR'S COURT.

WHEREAS, the Ohio Revised Code Section 1905.05 provides for the appointment by the Mayor of a Magistrate to preside over Mayor's Court; and
WHEREAS, with the close scrutiny that has been placed on Mayor's Courts, the City Attorney has advised that the Mayor not preside over Mayor's Court; and
WHEREAS, the Clerk of Court has asked that the rate of pay per court session be raised to $447 per court session, and City Council agrees;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with Donald O. Breckenridge, 3009 Columbus Street, Grove City, Ohio 43123, to serve as Magistrate of the City of Gahanna Mayor's Court, said contract attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That the rate of pay per court session be established at FOUR HUNDRED FORTY SEVEN DOLLARS ($447) per session
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and signature approval by the Mayor.
