TITLE
AN ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE GAHANNA COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT CORPORATION (CIC) FOR A TERM BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 2022, AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 2024, TO PROMOTE AND ENCOURAGE ECONOMIC ACTIVITY FOR THE CITY
BODY
WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna has historically entered into an annual agreement with the Gahanna Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) for the purpose of promoting and encouraging the economic stability of the City; and
WHEREAS, the CIC’s activities continue to enhance the economic vitality of the community, benefitting the citizens of Gahanna through development projects focused on business retention, expansion, and attraction strategies; and
WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna desires to renew an agreement for a term of thirty-six months beginning January 1, 2022, and ending December 31, 2024.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into an Agreement with the Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) beginning January 1, 2022, and ending December 31, 2024, for the purpose of assisting with economic development initiatives for the City of Gahanna; said Agreement is attached hereto as EXHIBIT A and made a part herein.
Section 2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
