WHEREAS, BERYL D. ANDERSON has served Ohio residents faithfully since 1999 in her capacity as under Secretary of State, under J. Kenneth Blackwell; and
WHEREAS, BERYL D. ANDERSON'S historic appointment made her the first African American to hold this title as one of the highest ranking women in Ohio State Government; and
WHEREAS, BERYL D. ANDERSON has served on the national task force of Secretaries of State for election reform and served as co chair of the Election Center's Election Reform Task Force Committee; and
WHEREAS, BERYL D. ANDERSON serves as an exemplary role model for all residents of Ohio;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That this Council and Administration do hereby honor and commend BERYL D. ANDERSON for her faithful service and dedication to the residents of Ohio as Deputy Secretary of State, and wish her well in all future endeavors.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by Council.
