TITLE

A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY OF GAHANNA TO APPLY FOR CLEAN OHIO TRAIL FUNDS AND RECREATIONAL TRAILS PROGRAM ADMINISTERED BY THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES

BODY

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks & Recreation is seeking alternative funding for construction of Gahanna’s Link to Literacy Trail; and



WHEREAS
, the State of Ohio, through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, administers financial assistance for such public recreation purposes, through Recreational Trails Program (RTP) and/or the Clean Ohio Trails Fund (COTF); and

 

WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna desires financial assistance under the RTP and COTF Programs.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1. That the Council of the City of Gahanna approves of filing applications for the RTP and COTF for financial assistance.

 

Section 2. That Stephania Ferrell, Director of Parks & Recreation, is hereby designated as the local coordinator authorized and directed to execute and file an application with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and to provide all information and documentation required to become eligible for possible funding assistance.

 

Section 3. That the City of Gahanna does agree to obligate the funds required to satisfactorily complete the proposed project and become eligible for reimbursement under the terms and conditions of the RTP and COTF Programs.

 

Section 4. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
