TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH EVANS, MECHWART, HAMBLETON & TILTON, INC., FOR DESIGN SERVICES FOR TECH CENTER DRIVE AND RELATED PROJECTS; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, EMH&T has submitted a status report and proposal for continued design work on Tech Center Drive and related projects, and the City Engineer has requested that we move forward with the proposal; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to proceed with this contract at the earliest possible date to keep the project on ODOT's schedule, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into contract extension with Evans, Mechwart, Hambleton & Tilton, Inc., 170 Mill Street, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, for continuing design services for the TechCenter Drive and Related Proejcts, in accordance with proposal attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That FIFTY THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($50,200) was set aside to Account. No. 101.145.5533, Capital Projects, Engineering, in the 2003 appropriations.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
