TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CHANGE ORDER AGREEMENT WITH MAIDEN & JENKINS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE JAMES ROAD BRIDGE, IMPROVEMENT NO. 819; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $19,490; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, work under this contract was originally approved by ORD-0172-2003; and

 

WHEREAS, a change order is necessary with this project for additional waterline work and the installation of a fire hydrant needed in the area; and

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this project due to the close of construction season, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into change order Agreement with Maiden & Jenkins, 14820 Kimberly Road, P.O. 268, Nelsonville, Ohio 45764, for construction of the James Road Bridge, Improvement No. 819, in accordance withe City specifications.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of NINETEEN THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED NINETY DOLLARS ($19, 490) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance in the WSCI Fund to Account No. 652.351.5596, Miscellaneous Water, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That ORD-0001-2003, passed January 2, 2003 is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.

 

Section 4.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
