TO AMEND ORD-0009-2007, PART-TIME PERSONNEL, TO INCREASE CERTAIN PAY RANGES; AND TO COMBINE RECREATION TITLES/RANGES; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, ORD-0009-2007, passed February 5, 2007, established salaries for the part-time personnel of the City of Gahanna; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that the City be in compliance with the State minimum wage increase; and
WHEREAS, ORD-0009-2007 needs to be amended to reflect the 2007 restructuring of the Parks and Recreation Department; and
WHEREAS, while updating the ordinance, changes were also made so that definitions are clearly defined throughout the document; and
WHEREAS, certain benefits are being extended to part time employees who qualify; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward to make the necessary changes to come into compliance with State regulations, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That Article II, Pay Ranges, of ORD-0009-2007, passed February 5, 2007, is hereby amended as shown in EXHIBIT A, attached hereto and made a part hereof.
Section 2. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
