TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO PERSONAL SERVICES CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF GAHANNA AND MEACHAM & APEL ARCHITECTS, INC., FOR PLAN REVIEW SERVICES FOR 2009; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the City is required to have plans reviewed by an architect and the Director of Development has recommended that we proceed with Meacham & Apel; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this contract as the current one will expire on December 31, 2008, and all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Personal Services Contract with MEACHAM & APEL ARCHITECTS, INC., 6161 Riverside Drive, Suite A, Dublin, Ohio 43017, for plan review services for the City of Gahanna for 2009; contract attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of THIRTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($30,000) will be set aside in the 2009 Appropriations in Account No. 101.344.5246, Building, Contract Plan Review Services, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
