TO AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO AWARD AND THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH FYDA FREIGHTLINER OF COLUMBUS, FOR PURCHASE OF A FACILITY MAINTENANCE VAN, SPRINTER 2500 SHC VAN 1400; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, bids were opened on March 28, 2006 for a facility maintenance van; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service has recommended the lowest, most responsive, and responsible, bidder; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this purchase all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Director of Public Service is hereby authorized to award and the Mayor is authorized to enter into Contract with FYDA FREIGHTLINER OF COLUMBUS, 1250 Walcutt Road, Columbus, Ohio 43228, for purchase of a facility maintenance van, Sprinter 2500 SHC Van 1400, in accordance with bid and City specifications; bid tabs attached as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of FORTY FOUR THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED FIFTY SIX DOLLARS ($44,556) was set aside in the 2006 Appropriations to Account No. 101.141.5511, Lands & Buildings, Capital Equipment, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
