TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH EVANS, MECHWART, HAMBLETON & TILTON, INC., FOR DESIGN SERVICES FOR THE I-270 HAMILTON ROAD RAMP IMPROVEMENTS; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $23,500 THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, proposals were received for design services for the I-270/Hamilton Road Ramp Improvements, and the City Engineer has requested that we move forward with the proposal from EMH&T; and

 

WHEREAS, it is desirable to proceed with this contract at the earliest possible date to keep the project on ODOT's schedule, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is authorized to enter into contract with Evans, Mechwart, Hambleton & Tilton, Inc., 170 Mill Street, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, for design services for the I-270/Hamilton Road Ramp Improvements, Imp. #820, in accordance with proposal attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.

 

Section 2.  That TWENTY THREE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($23,500) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance in the General Fund to Account No. 101.145.5533, Capital Projects, Engineering.

 

Section 3.  That ORD-0001-2003, passed January 2, 2003, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation. 

 

Section 4.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
