TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH TRICAR LTD., TO PERFORM GEO-PROBE SAMPLING AND FIELD SCREENING TO ESTIMATE THE EXTENT OF PETROLEUM CONTAMINATION AT THE OKLAHOMA AVENUE CITY SERVICES COMPLEX

WHEREAS, the City has removed fuel tanks at the Oklahoma Avenue City Services Complex; and

 

WHEREAS, tests have shown that there is petroleum contamination at the site and the City must determine the full extent of the contamination then remove the tainted soil; and

 

WHEREAS, funding in the amount of $4,230 is available in 2002 funds for this work to be completed;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with TRICAR LTD., 10477 Shields Road, Ostrander, OH 43061, to perform Geo-Probe sampling and field screening to estimate the extent of petroleum contamination at the Oklahoma Avenue City Services Complex.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of $4,230 was appropriated in the 2002 Appropriations to Account No. 101.141.5441, Contract Services, and can be used to cover the herein costs. 

 

Section 3.  That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
