TO ADOPT THE EMERGENCY OPERATIONS PLAN, DATED OCTOBER 11, 2001, FOR THE CITY OF GAHANNA, OHIO; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the Director of Emergency Management has completed the Emergency Operations Plan, which is a statement of policy regarding emergency management and also assigns tasks and responsibilities to city officials; and
WHEREAS, it is truly imperative that the Emergency Operations Plan be adopted as soon as possible, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That this Council hereby adopts the Emergency Operations Plan, dated October 11, 2001, attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT A and made a part herein.
Section 2. That upon recommendation by the Director of Emergency Management, this plan shall be updated each year and kept current at all times.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation, and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
