TO AMEND SECTION 121.03 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, RELATIVE TO SALARIES OF GAHANNA CITY COUNCIL, EFFECTIVE JANUARY 3, 2000,

WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary and appropriate to provide adequate compensation for those elected residents serving as members of Gahanna City Council; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate and necessary that this compensation be firmly established in a timely manner to file such information with the Board of Elections of Franklin County as required by law;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That this Council hereby determines that EFFECTIVE JANUARY 3, 2000, Section 121.03 of the Codified Ordinances of Gahanna, Ohio, is amended as follows:
121.03 COMPENSATION.
Council members shall each receive compensation in the amount of Eight Hundred Dollars ($800) per month, payable the second pay period of each month.
Members of Council shall receive no additional compensation for any duties imposed upon them by reason of their membership on Council.
Section 2. That Ordinance No. 99-95, passed July 18, 1995, and any ordinances or parts or sections of ordinances in conflict herewith, are repealed as of January 3, 2000.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
