TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO SUBMIT A FORMAL GRANT APPLICATION FOR THE 2019 OHIO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (ODOT) MUNICIPAL BRIDGE PROGRAM; AND TO AUTHORIZE THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO ESTABLISH A SPECIAL FUND FOR THE GRANT, IF AWARDED.
BODY
WHEREAS, in an effort to secure funding for Capital Improvements, we are requesting permission to apply for the Ohio Department of Transportation Municipal Bridge Program; and
WHEREAS, eligible projects for this program include bridge replacements and rehabilitations projects in municipal corporations; and
WHEREAS, this funding opportunity could potentially offset some of the project costs associated with the Wynne Ridge Court Bridge Replacement project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to submit a formal grant application for the 2019 Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Municipal Bridge Program.
Section 2. That the Finance Director is hereby authorized to establish a special fund for the grant, if awarded.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
