TO AUTHORIZE PAYMENT TO THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE CITY'S PORTION OF THE PROJECT FOR FRA 317-18.00 PID NUMBER 80811; ALSO KNOWN AS THE HAMILTON ROAD/GRANVILLE STREET INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT NO. 883; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, ORD-0049-2008 authorized preliminary legislation to cooperate with the Director of Transportation for the Hamilton Road/Granville Street intersection improvement; and
WHEREAS, ORD-0155-2010 authorized the agreement with ODOT for payment; and
WHEREAS, ODOT recently finalized the project finances and has invoiced the City for its local match in the amount of $17,859.01; and
WHEREAS, the City needs to make the final payment this year on the above-stated project, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That funding in the amount of SEVENTEEN THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED FIFTY-NINE DOLLARS ($17,859) was set aside in prior year appropriations and carried over to Account No. 325.122.5513, Capital Projects/Streets, to cover the herein costs.
Section 2. That payment be made to ODOT in the amount of $17,859 for the local match for the Hamilton/Granville intersection, Improvement No. 883 project.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
