TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH NOVINITY, INC. MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS, FOR THE DESIGN AND PRODUCTION OF MARKETING BROCHURES FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF DEVELOPMENT AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the Department of Development met with three different marketing firms to design and produce marketing brochures; and NOVINITY, INC. MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS is the only firm that developed a cost-effective and visually appealing marketing piece; and

 

WHEREAS, proposal has been received and been recommended by the Director of Development; and

 

WHEREAS, funding in the amount of $5,000 is available in 2002 funds for this project to be completed; and

 

WHEREAS, completion of this project in a timely fashion for promotion of City is critical in these economic times, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with NOVINITY, INC. MARKETING, 523 PARK STREET, COLUMBUS, OH  43215, for design and production of marketing brochures, in accordance with contract attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT A.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000) has been set aside to Account No. 101.343.5254, Development, Promotions, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
