TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CHANGE ORDER AGREEMENT WITH JESS HOWARD ELECTRIC TO ADD FIBER OPTIC INTERCONNECT TO THE US 62 SIGNAL, IMPROVEMENT NO. 806, FOR A WIRELESS SIGNAL CONTROL LINK FROM HAMILTON/US 62 INTERSECTION TO CITY HALL; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $31,000; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the City wishes to install fiber optic interconnect to the US 62 signal improvement for a wireless signal control link from Hamilton/62 intersection to City Hall; and
WHEREAS, the City has received proposal from Jess Howard Electric and the City Engineer recommends we proceed with them; and
WHEREAS, a change order is needed to ORD-0098-2005 to add this additional work to the contract; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Change Order Agreement with JESS HOWARD ELECTRIC COMPANY, 6630 Taylor Road, Blacklick, OH 43004, to add fiber optic interconnect to the US 62 Traffic Signal Improvement No. 806 for wireless signal control link from Hamilton/62 intersection to City Hall.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of THIRTY ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($31,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the State Highway Fund, to Account No. 222.231.5541, State Highway Capital Improvements, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That ORD-0001-2006, passed January 2, 2006, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
