TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH TRICAR LTD. FOR INSPECTION SERVICES FOR THE BIG WALNUT PEDESTRIAN ACCESS; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $64,800 THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, proposal dated July 21, 1998, has been submitted to the City and has been recommended to this Council by the City Engineer; and
WHEREAS, in order to accomplish the designated time table for this project, it is necessary to proceed at the earliest possible date during this construction season for the orderly accomplish of this project, and it is imperative to have competent inspection during this process, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with TRI CAR LTD., 6237 Wynford Drive, Dublin, Ohio 43016 for inspection services for the Big Walnut Pedestrian Access Restoration, Improvement No. 708, in accordance with bid and City specifications.
Section 2. That the amount not to exceed of SIXTY-FOUR THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS ($64,800) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance in The General Fund to Account No. 101.145.5541, Capital Projects, Streets, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That Ordinance No. 980001, passed January 2, 1998, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation, and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and approval by the Mayor.
