TO AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO AWARD AND THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH CONIE CONSTRUCTION FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE WEST GAHANNA WATER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT; IMPROVEMENT NO. 938.

WHEREAS, the area of West Gahanna that encompasses Debra Lane, Sandra Court and Shara Park Place is currently not supplied with City water and a new water line needs to be installed to service the area; and
WHEREAS, bids were opened on April 2, 2010 for the West Gahanna water improvement project, and the Director of Public Service has recommended we proceed with the lowest most responsive and responsible bidder;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Director of Public Service is authorized to award and the Mayor is authorized to enter into contract with CONIE CONSTRUCTION, 1340 Windsor Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43211, for construction of the West Gahanna water improvement project; Improvement No. 938; bid tabs attached as EXHIBIT A; in accordance with City bid and specifications.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of ONE HUNDRED NINETEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($119,000) was set aside in there 2010 Appropriations to Account No. 652.351.5596, WSCI, Capital Projects/Improvements, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
