TO AMEND ORD-0150-2002, WHICH PROVIDED RATES OF PAY AND BENEFITS FOR UNCLASSIFIED PERSONNEL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA FOR THE PERIOD JANUARY 1, 2002, THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2002, TO PROVIDE FOR THE HIRING OF THE  DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AT MORE THAN THE BOTTOM OF THE RANGE; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, ORD-0150-2002, passed August 19, 2002, provides for compensation and benefits for the unclassified personnel of the City; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor wishes to hire a Director of Information Technology at more than the bottom of the range which requires approval of Council; and

 

WHEREAS, this hiring is to be effective December 30, 2002 and this legislation is needed for a smooth transition in the hiring process, all for the preservation of the public health, safety, and welfare:

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That Article II, Pay Ranges, of ORD-0150-2002, passed August 19, 2002, is hereby amended as shown in EXHIBIT A, effective September 3, 2002 and made a part herein.

 

Section 2.  That existing Article II, Pay Ranges, of ORD-0150-2002 is repealed as of the effective date of this ordinance.

 

Section 3.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation, and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and approval by the Mayor.
