BOUNDARY CHANGE
Title
TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY ATTORNEY TO PETITION THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO, FOR A CHANGE IN TOWNSHIP LINES IN ORDER TO MAKE THEM IDENTICAL WITH THE MUNICIPAL LIMITS OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA

WHEREAS, a major portion of the city of Gahanna is in Mifflin Township; and
WHEREAS, this Council and the Administration have determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Gahanna and its residents to have all of said City within the limits of Mifflin Township;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That is necessary and in best interest of the City of Gahanna and its residents to change that portion of Jefferson Township within the municipal limits of the City of Gahanna in order to make the Mifflin Township line identical, in part, with the municipal limits of the City of Gahanna, to include annexations to the City of Gahanna from Jefferson Township, said annexations more particularly described as follows:
EXHIBIT 1 - Acceptance of 2.6+/- acres , requested by William F. Kelly, et al. {Ordinance No. 185-97}
EXHIBIT 2 - Acceptance of 6.1+/- acres, requested by James F. Purdie, et al. {Ordinance No.236-97}
EXHIBIT 3 - Acceptance of 0.96+/- acres, requested by City of Gahanna. {Ordinance No. 980020}
Section 2. That the City Attorney is hereby authorized and directed, on behalf of this Council and the Administration, to prepare and to present to the Board of County Commissioners of Franklin County, Ohio, a Petition praying for such change in the boundary lines of Mifflin Township and Jefferson Township as are necessary to accomplish the transfer of property within the municipal limits of the City of Gahanna from Jefferson Township to Mifflin Township.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
