TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO PROPERTY/LIABILITY INSURANCE RENEWAL CONTRACT WITH THE OHIO MUNICIPAL JOINT SELF INSURANCE POOL.

WHEREAS, it is time to renew our contract and it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Service to stay with the Ohio Municipal Joint Self Insurance Pool for the insurance; and
WHEREAS, the Ohio Municipal Joint Self Insurance Pool is offering a three year renewal with the same base rate of the last 3-year program; and
WHEREAS, Council concurs with this recommendation due to the cost savings to the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into renewal contract with the Ohio Municipal Joint Self Insurance Pool, Dawson Insurance, Inc., 1340 Depot Street, Cleveland, OH 44116-1799 to renew property/liability insurance, said contract attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY-FOUR THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED FORTY-THREE DOLLARS ($184,443) was set aside in the 2014 Appropriations in the following accounts to cover the herein costs:

Account Number 220.330.5282 - STREETS, VEHICLE INSURANCE
Account Number 631.350.5282 - STORM WATER, INSURANCE
Account Number 651.350.5282 - WATER, VEHICLE INSURANCE
Account Number 661.360.5282 - SEWER, VEHICLE INSURANCE
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by Council and 30 days after signature of approval by the Mayor.
