TITLE
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATIONS - Parks & Recreation Fund for Recreation Coordinator II Position Supporting Community Recreation
BODY
WHEREAS, the Parks & Recreation Master Plan adopted in 2023 highlighted special events as a priority of Gahanna residents; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks & Recreation annually hosts approximately 30 events and collaborates with multiple outside agencies to support an additional 40 community events; and
WHEREAS, substantial coordination is required to ensure event safety, develop a robust volunteer program to support events, and pursue sponsorships, which necessitates additional staffing; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks & Recreation anticipates a reduction in the overall costs associated with organizing events with added staffing to focus on sponsorship development.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That funding in the amount of eighty-one thousand seven hundred fifty-seven dollars ($81,757) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unappropriated, unencumbered balance of the Parks & Recreation Fund (2420) as follows:

242.08.320.5160 - Parks & Recreation Other Benefits: $23
Section 2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by Council and on date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
