WHEREAS, ORD-0236-2009 authorized the Mayor to enter into contract with Bird Houk Collaborative to prepare a Hamilton Road Corridor Plan; and
 
WHEREAS, Bird Houk Collaborative worked with the Development staff to gather information, hold public meetings and develop a framework for the plan; and
 
WHEREAS, in 2011 due to staffing changes in the department progress on the plan was delayed; and
 
WHEREAS, based on changes in the market and investments in the corridor since the plan initiation the Department of Planning & Development is requesting that the initial plan be reviewed and updated; and
 
WHEREAS, Bird Houk, A Division of OHM, has submitted a proposal to do the revision and the Director of Planning & Development has recommended that we proceed with them to do the revision and update;
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
 
Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with BIRD HOUK, A DIVISION OF OHM, 600 Creekside Plaza, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, to update and revise the Hamilton Road Corridor Plan; Contract attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
 
Section 2.  That funding in the amount of NINE THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS ($9,700) was set aside in the 2012 Appropriations to Account No. 101.343.5253, Development, Planning, to cover the herein cost.
 
Section 3.  That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
