Title
TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH MUNICIPAL ADVISORS INCORPORATED FOR EMPLOYEE AUDIT; TO APPROPRIATE FUNDING THEREFOR; TO REPEAL ORDINANCE NO. 980022; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY
Body
WHEREAS, this Council determined that an employee audit was necessary in order to proceed with any requested funding of existing positions, rehiring, or creation of new positions; and

WHEREAS, one proposal was received, recommended by the Mayor, and authorized under authority of Ordinance No. 980022; and

WHEREAS, the prior proposal and contract attached to Ordinance No. 980022 has been cancelled, and it is necessary in order to complete the audit, to contract with a new firm; and

WHEREAS, proposal has been received under date of August 21, 1998, and is recommended by the Administration; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to proceed to effect this contract at the earliest possible date for the continued orderly conduct of City business and employee morale, and for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Agreement with MUNICIPAL ADVISORS INCORPORATED, 1206 Laskin Road, Suite 210, P.O.Box 45, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23458, said Agreement based on Scope of Services letter, dated August 21, 1998, attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.

Section 2. That the amount of THIRTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($35,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of The General Fund to ACCOUNT NO. 101.121.5170, Mayor, Employee Requirements.

Section 3. That Ordinance No. 980022, passed February 17, 1998, the contract authorized by said ordinance, and all funding authorized therefor, is repealed as of the effective date of this ordinance.
