WHEREAS, the City has created a new zoning district for churches, schools and government offices known as Restricted Institutional District; and

 

WHEREAS, as part of the discussions with the various affected entities when this code was enacted, the City agreed to undertake the rezoning of each of these properties; and

 

WHEREAS, Victory in Pentecost Church is ready to expand and it is the desire of the City to rezone this property to the Restricted Institutional District before this expansion takes place; and

 

WHEREAS, Planning Commission has held a public Hearing and recommended this request for rezoning on August 28, 2002; and

 

WHEREAS, Council held Public Hearing on October 7, 2002, pursuant to notice and according to law;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Official Zoning Map, adopted by Ordinance No. 198-96 on November 19, 1996, as amended, is hereby amended by zoning 7.46+/- acres as RID, Restricted Institutional District, said acreage more particularly described in EXHIBIT A attached hereto.

 

Section 2.  That the Clerk of Council is hereby directed to amend and rectify the Official Zoning Map of the City of Gahanna, Ohio, to reflect the zoning contained in and approved by this ordinance.

 

Section 3.  That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after signature of approval by the Mayor.
