WHEREAS, bids were received on March 15, 2013 for the Farmwood Place Street Infiltration Project, Improvement No. ST 982, to relieve stormwater runoff problems in the subdivision; and
 
WHEREAS, this is for a pilot stormwater infiltration project using a new method of watershed management that stores stormwater runoff in underground beds; and
 
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service has recommended we proceed with the lowest, most responsible and responsive bidder, Decker Construction;
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
 
Section 1.  That the Director of Public Service is hereby authorized to award and the Mayor is authorized to enter into contract with DECKER CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, 3040 McKinley Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43204, for the Farmwood Place Street Infiltration Pilot Project, Improvement No. ST 982; bid tabs attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
 
Section 2.  That funding in the amount of ONE HUNDRED TWENTY TWO THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED NINETY SEVEN DOLLARS ($122,297), is available in Account No. 631.350.5596, Stormwater Capital Projects/Improvements, to cover the herein costs.
 
Section 3.  That funding in the amount of TWENTY FOUR THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS ($24,225) is available in Account No. 652.351.5596, Water System Capital Projects/Improvements, to further cover the herein costs.    
 
Section 4.  That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
